A Native of Belém do Pará, Brazil, Luciana Arraes studied with Nikolai Kith, Evguene Ratchev, Maria Constança de Almeida Prado, Pablo de León, and Elizabeth Chang, and has been a member of several orchestras in Brazil and internationally has been part of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas (YOA), The World Orchestra (Spain), Orchestre de la Francophonie (Canada). Luciana is a graduate from YOA’s “Global Leaders” social entrepreneur training program and is the founder of “Projeto Cururu”, a social project in its 10th year that teaches music and arts to underprivileged children in Belém do Pará. Luciana holds a Bachelor’s degree in violin from the University of São Paulo, a Master’s in violin performance from the University of Massachusetts –Amherst, and is a Suzuki-certified violin teacher, having done the long-term training at The Hartt School of Music, with Teri Einfeldt. Luciana is currently finishing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Violin Performance at The Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford with Katie Lansdale and is in the Suzuki Violin Faculty at The Hartt School Community Division—University of Hartford.
