Lovancy Ingram began studying violin with Quincy Meeks at age three and since then, she has enjoyed sharing her love of music with others. In 2018 Ingram began teacher training for “Every Child Can!” and Suzuki violin book one with Ronda Cole followed by book two and book three training with Martha Shackford.

After receiving Suzuki-based instruction from her first teacher, Quincy Meeks, Ingram continued traditional studies with Gloria Stearns-Bruner, Phyllis Fleming, and Cynthia Penne. She completed undergraduate studies in violin performance at Washington and Lee University and later received a masters degree in music education from Teachers College, Columbia University. In addition, Ingram studied viola with Rachel Schenker.

Ingram has taught children and adults since 2011. She began working at Capitol Hill Arts Workshop in 2017 and currently teaches group classes as well as private lessons there. In addition, Ingram teaches privately in the DC area. She has performed with a number of groups including the Pan-American Symphony Orchestra, the Shrine of the Sacred Heart Music Ministry, Spirit Jazz and Improv Ensemble, and the DC Concert Orchestra. She served as assistant concertmaster with the University-Shenandoah Symphony Orchestra of Lexington, VA and has been concertmaster of the D.C. Strings chamber orchestra since September 2017.
