Lora Baronian is a piano teacher with more than 20 years of experience. She has been on the faculty of the Washington Conservatory and Harmonia School of Music in Washington DC, as well as at the Jazz Institute and Nevsky music schools in St. Petersburg, Russia. She has also maintained an active private music studio in the DC area for more than 15 years. Lora holds a BM and MM in piano pedagogy and music theory from M. Mussorgsky Music College (St. Petersburg) and Kalinin State University in Russia, as well as additional pedagogical training in the USA. Lora combines elements of Suzuki, the Russian School, and music theory/ear-training to help all students develop a thorough musical foundation in a fun, encouraging, and nurturing atmosphere. Students are encouraged to participate in recitals, festivals, competitions, and exams, including the ABRSM, NVMTA, and American Guild of Music events. Lora also offers an AP music theory preparatory course and music theory testing opportunies for her older students.

Lora is a member of the Suzuki Association, NVMTA and MTNA. She is available to teach at two locations in the Reston/Sterling and McLean/Arlington areas.
