Suzuki violin culture was embedded in Lindy’s life beginning at the age of four at the Wheaton College Suzuki program in Illinois and the Western Springs School of Talent Education as a student of Nancy Jackson. She then earned a BM from DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana where she studied under Dan Rizner and a MM from Belmont University, Nashville, Tennessee under Elisabeth Small. Originally based out of Nashville, Lindy is a violinist in Roy “Futureman” Wooten’s Black Mozart Ensemble honoring the life and music of 18th century African/French composer Joseph Boulogne de Saint George in a progressive classical style that holds historical musical significance. Lindy was also a touring member and orchestral masterclass instructor with the high energy violin performance company, Barrage.

Lindy has taught private and group Suzuki classes since 2006 and currently teaches in Fort Myers, FL. She has also been a violin/fiddle instructor with many music schools including the Nashville Suzuki Players, The Savannah Musicians Institute, Music Star Studios, David Lipscomb University Arts School, McGavok High School, and Donelson Christian Arts Academy Nashville. Working closely with parents, maintaining clear and effective communication in providing instruction to achieve efficient home practice sessions with their children is a primary focus and strength within Lindy’s Private studio. Through the Suzuki Method every child can be successful with the support of their parent and teacher triangle with an emphasis on technique, the role of listening, and the development of the ear by modeling a beautiful tone and heartfelt playing. She is highly experienced with young children and early childhood education ages 3 + and is also a mother of two girls.

In an effort to support the United States Military, Lindy traveled to Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan to play on the Sergeant Major of the Army’s Hope and Freedom USO tour in 2008 and 2009. The year before in 2007, Lindy joined Taylor Swift’s band as her fiddle player/mandolin/BGV. Throughout her time in Nashville, she has played and recorded with many artists and bands and also embraces the process of writing her own music. Living in Music City brought many fun opportunities and Lindy appeared with Def Leppard and Taylor Swift on CMT Crossroads in 2009. She also played with Sugarland on the CMA Awards show in 2009 and in 2010 with Kelly Clarkson, Jason Aldean, and Taylor Swift and appeared with Kellie Pickler, Darius Rucker and Leann Rimes on 2009 CMT’s Country Christmas. Lindy has also been a fiddler, singer, and instructor in the high energy, multi genre company Barrage and their educational program, Energize Your Strings!
