Mrs. Linda Louise Ford
Linda L. Ford attended Eastman School of Music and studied violin with Oliver Steiner and later with Julia Verba and Lara SIpols of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. She has a BSN and MSN in Mental Health Nursing from the University of Rochester. Mrs. Ford’s initial Suzuki violin pedagogy training was with Anastasia Jempelis who studied directly with Shinichi Suzuki . Mrs. Ford studied with Mimi Zweig ( an advocate of Paul Rolland’s work) at Indiana University’s Violin and Viola Retreats for String Teachers in 2008 and 2009 and a retreat at Northwestern University in 2011. She has Suzuki Association of the Americas violin teacher training courses completed in Suzuki Violin books 1-10 She has studied folk fiddle with Barbara Lamb, Alasdair Frasier, Maire Breatnacht, Laurie Hart , Fletcher Bright, Bruce Molsky and Laura Risk. She teaches the violin using a fun flexible approach to suit the strengths, challenges and interests of her students. Mrs. Ford teaches Suzuki violin lessons and groups at her home studio in Brighton , NY. She teaches violin to children, their parents as well as adult learners who love the sound of the violin and realize it is never too late to learn. S he has taught violin and fiddle since 1998. She previously taught violin at The Hochstein School of Music and The Kanack School of Music , Directress/Owner-Alice Kanack. She has been a member of several community orchestras, classical chamber groups and string folk bands for over 20 years.
