Lauren Ellis Scott has served as music director for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade in school districts of New York and Pennsylvania for over half a decade. Following her studies with William dePasquale at Temple University and receipt of Bachelor’s degrees in Violin Performance and Music Education, Mrs. Scott remained closely connected with music-making in Philadelphia. In 2007, she joined the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra staff as a coach for the PRYSM Orchestra and currently teaches for the PRYSM Young Artists Orchestra. Mrs. Scott helped implement an array of educational music programs during an internship with The Philadelphia Orchestra’s Collaborative Learning Department in their 2015-2016 season while also studying with assistant principal violist Kerri Ryan. She completed her Master’s Degree at Stony Brook University in 2016.

An active violinist and violist, Mrs. Scott has played with the Delaware Symphony, Charleston Symphony, The Philly Pops, Ridgefield Symphony, the American Institute of Musical Studies Festival Orchestra in Graz, Catskill Symphony, the Bard Conducting Institute Orchestra, and the Schenectady Symphony where she held a position in the first violin section. In addition to directing the middle school orchestras in the Unionville Chadds Ford School District and working as a Teaching Artist with The Philadelphia Orchestra, Mrs. Scott performs regularly as a violist in the Morris Quartet.
