Violin, Viola, Suzuki Early Childhood Education Teacher
Lauren Murphy is an accomplished violinist, violist, and pianist, having earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. She has participated in numerous music festivals including Tanglewood Music Festival, Skaneateles Music Festival, Lake Placid Sinfonietta, Florida Music Festival, Columbia River Music Festival, and Spoleto festivals in the USA and Italy. Lauren performed as a full time member of the Florida Orchestra violin section for 18 years. Before performing with The Florida Orchestra, Lauren was a member of the Knoxville Chamber Orchestra & Symphony.
Ms. Murphy is a faculty member at the Florida Music Institute. As the owner and director of Tampa Suzuki Strings, Lauren frequently hosts Suzuki Play-Ins for area Suzuki teachers and students. Lauren has directed local workshops and summer camps. When she is not in her studio teaching, you may find her coaching student ensembles and accompanying students at the piano. Lauren has taught interim positions at Shore Elementary School, Patel Conservatory, Academy of Holy Names, and Berkeley Preparatory School.
Lauren is eager and excited to teach music lessons to you or your child. In addition to her violin performance degree, she received Suzuki Association of the Americas registered teacher training in violin and viola from Ithaca College, The University of Miami, American String Institute in Steven’s Point, WI, and additionally with Ronda Cole. Lauren has SAA registered teaching training for Violin books 1,2,3,4,9,10, Viola book 4, violin books 1-6 overview, and Every Child Can. Lauren is an active member of ASTA and FMEA.
