Mrs. Laura Syjud
Mrs. Syjud has studied with both teacher trainers Karin Hallberg and Dr. Louise Scott from Northern Arizona University. Mrs. Syjud began her own violin playing when she was 9 years old in the public school system. She played in community orchestras, youth orchestras and school orchestras until attending ASU in 1999. While at ASU, Mrs. Syjud studied with Dr. Skoldberg and received other training from Dr. Spinoza. She then transfered to NAU, where she was introduced to the Suzuki approach to teaching. She spent the next 3 years being trained in the method as well as teaching with Karin Hallberg in a “Suzuki in the Schools” program up in Flagstaff. Mrs. Syjud has taught orchestra in the public schools for 10 years and has had a private studio for violin and piano for 15 years. She is currently living in Phoenix, AZ. Mrs. Syjud has just accepted a new position at Desert Shadows Elementary School in Phoenix, Arizona as the Violin Suzuki Teacher for grades Preschool-6th Grade.
