A native of West Michigan, violist and educator Kristina Zeinstra earned her Bachelors in Viola Performance with a minor in Dalcroze Eurhythmics Pedagogy from the Cleveland Institute of Music and an Artist Certificate in Performance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville as a Teaching Assistant and inaugural Tennessee fellow.

In addition to her responsibilities at UTK, she spent four years as an Orchestra Assistant and one year as a Eurhythmics Teaching Assistant for CIM’s Preparatory Program and has maintained a private studio of violin and viola students since 2012. She has also had the honor of instructing viola, chamber music, and the Eurhythmics method at several clinics and summer music camps.  

Ms. Zeinstra is currently a member of the Lansing Symphony Orchestra and has performed as a member of the Holland Symphony Orchestra and Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed as Principal violin and viola for several theater companies throughout Michigan.  As a soloist and chamber musician, she has participated in concerts and outreach performances throughout the United States.  

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking the National Parks, caring for her many houseplants, and spending time with her cat, Peppermint.
