Kristen Tourville

Kristen Tourville is an independent Suzuki violin & viola teacher—and Arizona transplant—currently living in Blue Springs, Missouri (suburb of Kansas City). She holds degrees from Vanderbilt University (BM) and Northern Arizona University (MM-violin performance/Suzuki pedagogy). She studied with several remarkable teacher trainers including Louise Scott, Karin Hallberg, Carol Tarr, & Michiko Yurko (creator of Music Mind Games). Personal musical pursuits took her around the country on tour with major commercial performing artists, and to symphonies across the Midwest & Southwest. Offstage and outside the teaching studio, Kristen serves as a Music Mind Games Teacher Trainer for Unit 1, and as a clinician and creative workshop leader, working to engage children of all ages in cross-genre musical exploration. Previously, Kristen taught violin and Music Mind Games for NAU Academy, Suzuki in the schools at Marshall Magnet Elementary, Suzuki in the schools in Clayton, Missouri, and at summer institutes.
