Mrs. Krista Lane will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from The University of Kansas in May 2020. She has been teaching Suzuki violin private and group lessons for eight years. She began playing violin at the age of nine while in Colorado, and continued taking Suzuki lessons until college with Carolyn Sandquist in Kansas. In the last five years she has taken the Every Child Can course and completed training for Suzuki Violin Units 1, 2, and 3 with teacher trainers Susan Kempter, Beth Titterington, and Nancy Lokken, respectively. For seven years Krista played in the Topeka Symphony Youth Ensembles, and for a few years also assisted the Topeka Symphony Debut Orchestra. While at KU she studied violin with Dr. Veronique Mathieu and Dr. David Colwell and was part of the KU Symphony Orchestra. She is an active member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA), and the Heart of America Suzuki Association (HASA). Krista frequently leads music at her church and performs in her family’s band.
