Violin, Suzuki Early Childhood Education Teacher
Kiska enjoyed growing up in Utah where she participated in local groups such as the Young Artist Chamber players. One of the highlights of her BYU experiences was touring Europe with the BYU Chamber Orchestra.
In 2005 Kiska received an undergraduate degree in Violin Performance from Brigham Young University. Kiska’s love of teaching blossomed with more experience in community music teaching, and in 2006 she was accepted to the Music Education department at the Eastman School of Music in 2006. During her five years in Rochester Kiska taught privately in her home and at the Kanack School of Music in Brighton, New York. She developed her artistry at Eastman through studying with renowned pedagogues Lynn Blakeslee and Zvi Zeitlin. She also attended summer camps such as The Berkshires Summer Music camp directed by Misha Quint. Kiska completed her Master of Music degree at the Eastman School of Music in May 2010.
Since her graduation she has enjoyed teaching her private students in West Omaha and Philadelphia. She was also a regular substitute for the Omaha symphony, and a full time member of the Rangbrook Ensemble. Kiska’s favorite pastimes are spending time with her family, hiking in the Rocky Mountains or Southwestern red rock, running, and yoga.
