Ms. Kimberly Galva
Violin Teacher
Ms. Kimberly Galva has taught violin and performed professionally for over 15 years. She studied music at Oberlin Conservatory and graduated from DePaul University with a Master’s Degree in Violin Performance. While in Chicago Ms. Galva played with the Civic Orchestra, training orchestra to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Since moving to Washington, DC, she has performed in such notable venues as the Kennedy Center, National Cathedral and Schlesinger Hall with the Alexandria Symphony, Washington Chamber Orchestra, and Avanti Orchestra. When not playing in the orchestra violin section, Kimberly enjoys playing and performing chamber music with friends.
Ms. Galva serves on the faculty of the Levine School of Music and teaches in her home studio. She endeavors to create a joyful, nurturing and challenging lesson environment in which student and parent are engaged. Ms. Galva guides parents to develop productive and rewarding practice relationships with their children at home. She is located in Cleveland Park and accepts students from 3 years of age. The focus of her practice of teaching is developing excellence in students through the Suzuki Method of Instruction.
