Kerry is a violist and violinist located in North Seattle. She offers both Suzuki and Traditional lessons for violin and viola in the North Seattle area. She is currently on the faculty at Music Center of the Northwest as a violin and viola instructor, where she maintains a studio of students of all ages and also teaches group classes.

Her goal is to help her students find and develop their relationship with music and their instrument. Everyone has their own goals and journey that they want to take with music, and no two people are the same in that regard. She always strives to make sure that her students are getting some level of enjoyment and meaning out of their lessons with her, while promoting a careful balance of structure, technique, and self-discipline. She wants to share her love and knowledge of music with her students and help facilitate their own life-long musical journey, in whatever capacity that may be. As such, lessons with Kerry, whether Suzuki or Traditional, will sometimes contain a combination of elements from various other methods, depending on what works best with the student’s learning style.

Kerry received her Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from the University of Puget Sound, where she studied under Joyce Ramée, and she did graduate studies in Music Education at Seattle Pacific University. Born and raised in the Puget Sound region, Kerry has performed with a number of groups in the area, such as Village Theater, Sammamish Symphony, Olympia Symphony, and currently performs with the Seattle Philharmonic. She is a recurrent performer with the Salt Water Music Series, the Northwest Grieg Society, and is a frequent performer of new compositions, specifically from composers in the Pacific Northwest.
