Kerri Parr lives in the Richardson, Texas area performing as a professional musician and teacher. In addition to violin, Kerri holds an MA in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. Kerri earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Violin performance at Baylor University, and studied private lessons under Dr. Eka Gogichashvili. She served as Concertmaster of the Baylor Symphony, and performed with the Waco Symphony for three years. In 2010, Kerri was one of the students selected to tour with the Baylor Symphony in Belgium. Kerri studied Suzuki violin beginning at age three and Suzuki piano at age five. She attended Suzuki Institute and Sound Encounters in Ottowa, Kansas for over eight years where she studied under Alice Joy Lewis, Brian Lewis, and took master lessons from William Preucil. In addition to the Suzuki Institute, Kerri attended the Masterworks Festival in Winona Lake, Indiana. In 2009, Kerri soloed with the Wichita Youth Symphony after winning the Youth Talent Competition. The same year she won the Women’s Federated Contest.

Some of Kerri’s more noteworthy performances include accompanying Joshua Bell with the Waco Symphony in 2010, performing at the Orpheum Theater, and performing for Fotolanthropy at the Majestic Theater in Dallas,Texas. Kerri enjoys playing at a vast array of venues in the Dallas area as a Co-Founder and Principal violinist with Uptown Violins. She has taught violin lessons for eleven years to ages ranging from three years old to high school students. Kerri comes from a musical family of three generations and enjoys performing and teaching with her four sisters. Music is an important part of her life, and she hopes to continue the art of music making in her own family.
