At the age of six Keith Lokey began his bass studies with Dr. Daniel Swaim in the Arizona Double Bass Research Consort. This group formed to develop repertoire for a trial version of Suzuki Bass School Book One. As part of this group, Keith performed at conferences across the country. He also took part in the Thirteenth World Suzuki Method Conference in Japan where he acted as an ambassador from the United States.

While attending Arizona State University, Keith studied the effects music can have on one’s physiological and psychological well being while pursuing a degree in Music Therapy. Keith has worked with various populations using music to achieve physical, mental, and psychological goals.

Keith has served as Principal Bass with the Boulder Symphony and Lamont Symphony Orchestra. He has recently completed his Masters in Music Performance with a concentration in Double Bass from the University of Denver. Keith currently teaches music in the Santa Fe Public Schools and enjoys the laid back lifestyle of New Mexico.
