I started my Suzuki experience as a student of Peggy Swingle on Bainbridge Island.
I continued my piano studies at Northwestern University and graduated with a BMus in Piano Performance and a BA in Sociology, in June, 2003. After a quick jaunt in the South doing non-profit work, I moved back to the Pacific Northwest and have been teaching Suzuki piano on Bainbridge Island since September of 2004. I am one one of the organizers of the Suzuki Celebration concerts at Benaroya Recital Hall, which happen approximately every 3 years; the next one coming up in April 2017. I am a Suzuki parent to my daughter Iris, a violin student of Katherine Davies, and to my daughter Nora, a cello student of Priscilla Jones. In addition to my work as piano teacher, I am an advocate for social justice and an active supporter of positive relationship building in my community.
Please note: I am currently no longer accepting students as I transition into the field of social work. I am available, however, as a guest clinician and/or speaker, and continue to be an active participant of SAWS.
