Piano, Suzuki in the Schools Teacher
Kay was born to musical family and started her early musical training at age 3 at Yamaha and Suzuki music school. Her musical passion extended not only classic music but also Jazz and Latin.
She earned BA from Osaka College of Music, MM from Mannes College of Music, Juilliard school, and additional studied at Aspen Music School, Yamaha Music school, Suzuki talent education in Japan. As Suzuki teacher, she studied with Cathy Hagrave, Jane Reede, Fey Adams, Joan Krzywicki and was Inspired by Nancy Model’s Suzuki/Taubmann approach. She is studying Taubmann approach with Sondra Tanman and continue taking Suzuki training at School for Strings under tultigate Marina Obukvsky.
She is active member of ASCAP,MTNA, NGPT,MEANJ, and PMTGNJ. She especially loves to working with special needs students. Her students are age 2-99. She got numerous teacher’s Awards, including National Honor Award, Piano teacher Hall of Fame from American college of musicians, and The highest Score award form ABRSM( Associate Board of Royal School of Music).
Beside teaching, Kay Is working an organist/keyboardist at Paramus Congregational Church, Mission Church and a music therapist at Bergen Rigional Hospital. Her hobby include painting, playing golf and traveling.
