Kathryn (Katy) Marino began studying the violin at the age of six at a private Suzuki studio.  She attended the Governor’s School for the Arts in Norfolk, Virginia, and continued her music education at the Eastman School of Music, studying the violin with Lynn Blakeslee and Frank Huang.

Katy received a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education cum laude in 2010. During her Eastman experience she taught general music, elementary Strings and high school Orchestra. She got a Master’s degree of Music Education at Boston University.

Katy has taught violin and chamber music with the Hampton Roads Chamber Players, Lawrence Academy of Music and Blue Lake’s Camp Bernstein. She spent seven years developing the K-3 Strings and Orchestra program at North Broward Preparatory School in Coconut Creek, Florida. In 2015 she was recognized as the Meritas Teacher of the Year.

Katy moved to Appleton in 2017 and is currently teaching general music in the Kimberly Area School District’s Woodland Elementary School. She continues to play the violin in the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra and teach private violin lessons in the evenings.
