Kathryn Drake recently graduated with a Bachelor of Music from the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin, where she studied violin with Professor Sandy Yamamoto. While at the University of Texas, she performed as a member of the UT Symphony Orchestra, UT Lab Orchestra, UT Opera Orchestra, and participated in the Miro Quartet Intensive Chamber Music Seminar.

Kathryn began her music education with the Suzuki Method at the age of four with Deanna Badgett, and continued her studies with Tim Washecka and Kristi Manno. In 2012 she began registering Suzuki Teacher Training, and has had the opportunity to study with Edward Kreitman, Edmund Sprunger, Teri Einfeldt, Katie Lansdale, Carol Dallinger, Dr. Sue Baer, and other incredible Suzuki teachers. She also completed independent studies with Dr. Laurie Scott and Dr. Robert Duke of the UT Music and Human Learning program. She taught for three years as a faculty member at Monarch Suzuki Academy and the UT String Project, where she served as the musicianship coordinator, organized the Eclectic Styles Festival, and co-founded a peer-to-peer mentorship program.

Kathryn is currently pursuing her Masters of Music degree at Ithaca College in Violin Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy. She studies with Susan Waterbury and Carrie Reuning-Hummel.
