Justine Ostrander grew up taking Suzuki lessons in Newton, KS at the Bethel College Academy of Performing Arts under the instruction of Rebecca Schloneger and Nancy Johnson, who is currently the principal 2nd violinist of the Wichita Symphony Orchestra. During this time, she participated in recitals, concerts, performing events within the community, and the Bethel College Orchestra. She also participated in the Wichita Youth Symphony. After moving to WI during high school, she participated in the Maranatha University Orchestra, became concert master in the Maranatha Music Camp for 4 years, and competed in the Milwaukee “Stars of Tomorrow” Competition, in which she received honorable mention and played side-by-side during the 2014 Honors Concert.

Justine is currently a Junior at Maranatha Baptist University, majoring in Violin Pedagogy and Performance. She studies under the instruction of Lewis Rosove, who held second seat violist in the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra for 21 years. She won the University Commencement Competition in 2017, allowing her to perform in the Fine Arts Honor Assembly. In 2016 she took Suzuki training for Book 1 at Stevens Point under Ann Montzka-Smelser, and in 2017 she took training for Books 2-3 at Trinity International University under Kathleen Spring and Vera McCoy-Sulentic. Justine is currently teaching students through the Maranatha Preparatory School and her private studio.
