Mrs. Julie Seeley
Flute, Recorder Teacher
Julie Seeley lives in south Aurora, Colorado, and has an active studio of Suzuki flute and recorder students who are ages 5 through high school seniors. Her students frequently perform in nursing homes, local stores, the Children’s Hospital, and have a yearly formal end of year recital on stage. The goal is for those entering the studio to joyfully share what they are learning with those they play for.
Mrs. Seeley began her Suzuki flute training in 2012. She has taught beginning note reading classes in a large group lesson setting for Suzuki violin students and currently substitutes in the same class. She has been a classroom teacher for over 15 years, which has included preschool teaching in Music and Spanish, and earlier years working as a middle school and high school teacher.
Mrs. Seeley currently studies flute with Dr. Christine Potter. She has performed throughout the past 10 years with the Aurora Symphony Orchestra, and while living in New Mexico, she was a member of the Symphony Orchestra of Albuquerque. Flute master classes include studies with Trevor Wye and Flute Spas with Patricia George.
The ECC course was taken in the fall of 2012 under Kathleen Spring. Book 1 Flute training was taken with Noelle Perrin the following summer. The Suzuki method captivated her attention after observing her own children learn through Dr. Suzuki’s methods, which eventually lead her to begin her certification process in becoming a Suzuki Teacher.
