Julie’s goal: To give each student something to love and embrace. To help them feel successful in all they do. To enjoy developing musical ability to a high level.

Julie began her music career with the piano at the age of 5 followed by the violin at age 9. She has participated with the school orchestras through middle school and high school and has also performed with the Jordan Youth Symphony Orchestra, Jordan Symphony Orchestra, Mormon Youth Orchestra, University of Utah Symphony, University of Utah Philharmonic, served as concertmaster for the West Jordan Symphony, and is currently participating with the Salt Lake Symphony.

She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Utah in 2001. Julie began teaching middle school band at Oquirrh Hills Middle School in Riverton and did so for 2 years. She has taught private lessons since 1998. She began her Suzuki training in 2006 and has loved the changes that she has been able to make in her teaching and in her own playing.

Julie is always looking for new ideas to find ways to better teach each individual student, through the use of the Suzuki method.  Since her first class, she has continued to attend the string institute for more instruction throughout the Suzuki repertoire for violin and has been working through the piano repertoire with her teacher trainer Cleo Brimhall.

She has completed course work on the piano through Suzuki book 6 and on the violin through Suzuki book 5.
