As a Suzuki violin student from age four, Julia believes that a strong foundation of ear-training, technique and practice is essential to developing as a musician across genres. She teaches Suzuki violin plus a wide range of fiddling and improvisation to better foster a well-rounded education. Ultimately, Julia’s goal is to create an encouraging environment for students to grow in creativity and self-esteem.

Julia graduated from Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music with a Bachelor of Science in Music, Magna Cum Laude. During her time in university, she expanded her classical training through studying Irish fiddling in Donegal, Ireland, and American fiddling through Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music. As an alumni of Carnegie Hall’s U.S. National Youth Orchestra, Julia has performed in venues such as the Kennedy Center, the Great Hall, Mariinsky II, and the Royal Albert Hall, where she was recorded live for the BBC Proms. She began studying with the Denver Young Artists Orchestra in 2008, and has attended three summers at the Interlochen music festival, where, in her final year, she received the Emerson Scholarship and was appointed concertmaster of the World Youth Symphony Orchestra.
