Julia Sedlack

Julia Sedlack is a South Florida native. She graduated in 2020 with dual undergraduate degrees in music and English from Samford University where she performed as violinist and violist in the Samford Orchestra, the Samford Opera Orchestra, and the Worship Arts Ensemble. Her teachers have included Kathryn Kreuger, Jeffrey and Angela Flaniken, Laura Mozena, and Cynthia Hinkelman.

As a proud “Suzuki kid grown-up,” Miss Sedlack is a great proponent of Suzuki music education. She is a registered teacher with the Suzuki Association of the Americas and a member of the Suzuki Association of the Greater Washington Area. Miss Sedlack is certified to teach Suzuki violin books 1-4 and has completed training with James Hutchins at East Carolina University, with Kirsten Marshall at Ithaca College, and virtually with Allen Lieb. She is currently on faculty at Harmonia School of Music & Art in Vienna, Virginia. She had also provided academic support to music theory and ear training students at the Catholic University of America’s Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art.

In addition to working as a Suzuki teacher, Miss Sedlack is active in interdisciplinary academic work and is a strong advocate for the value of liberal arts education. She graduated in May 2023 with a Master of Arts in Medieval and Byzantine Studies from the Catholic University of America. Her research focuses on aesthetics, the philosophy of beauty.
