Hello! My name is Joycelyn Choo! While I enjoy performing, my true passion lies in teaching the violin. While I teach students of almost all ages, I specifically love teaching young children. In my past experience with teaching children, I have had the privilege of seeing their simple joy and eagerness. I love teaching because it gives me the opportunity to be an active part of my students’ growth as musicians and as people. It truly warms my heart to watch the kids that I’ve worked with for years grow up to be strong and mature young adults. I love meeting new families and welcoming them into my studio. If you’re interested in joining my studio, please check out my website, give me a call, or email me! I am open to accepting new beginner students between the ages of 4-7 and transfer students in the Walnut area.

A bit about my background, I have studied violin at the prestigious Colburn school of music in Los Angeles and at Biola University’s Conservatory of Music. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance. Additionally, I have studied Suzuki violin pedagogy with April Losey, Edmund Sprunger, Elizabeth Larson Freeman, and Trudy Larson.
