Johanna Pino González

A native from Bogotá, Colombia, Johanna initiated her music education at an early age at the Universidad Javeriana Preparatory Music Program, later relocating to the United States to continue her professional studies in music. Johanna holds a Master of Viola Performance with Violin Suzuki Pedagogy Emphasis from The Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford.

Johanna joined the BSM strings faculty in the Fall of 2020 teaching individual and group violin lessons as well as actively collaborating with several BSM teacher and student ensembles. A passionate and devoted musician and pedagogue with more than 15 years of teaching experience in Colombia and the United States. Johanna have been invited as violin faculty at the XV, XIX, and XX International Festival Suzuki of Colombia, Puerto Rico Suzuki workshop, V festival Interviolas in Bogotá, VerArte music festival in Perú, and Bravo camp in Bermuda.

Johanna joined the Bermuda Philharmonic Orchestra in March 2022 and since 2021 along with BSM faculty fellow Steve Crawford, founded Duo Latino (Viola and guitar) devoted to playing a diverse repertoire of Latin and Caribbean music as well traditional classic repertoire for both instruments.

Ha sido invitada como masestra Suzuki de violin y viola en el XV , XIX y XX del Festival Internacional Suzuki de Colombia, Puerto Rico Suzuki workshop, maestra de viola del V festival Interviolas de Bogotá, maestra de violin y viola en el Festival VerArte en Arequipa, Perú, y maestra de violin en el Bravo Camp en Hamilton, Bermuda.

Actualmente Johanna se desempeña como maestra Suzuki de violin y viola en Bermuda School of Music.
Violista en la Orquesta Filarmonica de Bermuda, y es cofundadora del Duo Latino (Viola y Guitarra) junto con su colega Steve Crawford.
