Joanne Castellani is recognized as an important American concert artist as well as a sought-after pedagogue and adjudicator. She is most widely known for her work as part of the Castellani-Andriaccio Guitar Duo with her husband, Michael Andriaccio. Together, they have performed to critical acclaim on five continents with appearances at Carnegie, the Kennedy Center and the White House.

Their collaboration with acclaimed American composer, Roberto Sierra, has resulted in two major new concerti for two guitars and orchestra. The Duo’s latest CD, the World Premiere recording of Mr. Sierra’s “Fantasia Corelliana” and Astor Piazzolla’s Double Concerto with the internationally renowned Israel Chamber Orchestra conducted by Arie Lipsky was named “Best of the Year” by Fanfare Magazine.

Joanne Castellani is on the Faculty of the State University of New York at Buffalo and is director of the Castellani Andriaccio Guitar Studios, a state-of-the-art private teaching facility in Snyder, NY. She also is CoDirector of the JoAnn Falletta International Guitar Concerto Competition, one of the most visible international music events in the world. The Competition is sponsored by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Western New York Association for Public Broadcasting.
