Jennifer C. Stomberg

Jennifer Crowell Stomberg has previously held positions as principal cellist of the Illinois Symphony and Chamber Orchestra, Quincy Symphony (Illinois) and North Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. Other orchestra experience includes the Albany Symphony (New York), Tulsa Philharmonic, Delaware Symphony and Houston Ballet Orchestra. In addition to chamber music performances at the Killington Chamber Music Festival in Vermont and the Chautauqua Institute in New York, Ms. Stomberg has been a member of the Silver Bay String Quartet since 1989. As a committed teacher and registered Suzuki instructor, she has held teaching positions at Oral Roberts University, Texas Music Festival and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. Ms. Stomberg received her Bachelor of Musical Arts degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan and her Master of Music degree from Rice University. Major cello instructors include Jeffrey Solow, Shirley Trepel and Norman Fischer. Suzuki teacher training with Pam Devenport, Jean Dexter, Grace Field, Sally Gross, Nancy Hair, Carey Beth Hockett, Carol Tarr and Alice Vierra. Ms. Stomberg serves as core master faculty (Suzuki Cello) and string department head at The Music School of Delaware. She lives in Delaware with her husband, cellist Lawrence Stomberg, three children and an extensive collection of pets.
