Jennifer C. Stomberg

A native of Houston, Texas, Jennifer Crowell Stomberg serves as core master faculty with distinction, head of the string department, and chamber music coordinator at the Music School of Delaware and cellist of the Nagoya String Quartet. She teaches Suzuki and traditional cello to students in Wilmington, along with coaching chamber music, and mentoring younger teachers.

Previously, Ms. Stomberg held positions as principal cellist of the Illinois Symphony and Chamber Orchestra (Springfield, IL); Dover Symphony (Dover, DE); Quincy Symphony (Quincy, IL); and North Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. Other orchestra experience includes the Albany Symphony (Albany, NY), Tulsa Philharmonic, Delaware Symphony and Houston Ballet Orchestra. In addition to chamber music performances at the Killington Chamber Music Festival in Vermont and the Chautauqua Institute in New York, she was a member of the Silver Bay String Quartet for over a decade. She is especially proud of founding The Music School of Delaware’s MELODY program, which began in 2020 and provides free quality music instruction to Wilmington youth who would otherwise not have access.

Former teaching positions held by Ms. Stomberg include: University of Oklahoma, Culver-Stockton College, Oral Roberts University and ORU Suzuki Program in Oklahoma, Texas Music Festival in Houston, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan and the Community Music School at the University of Delaware. As a committed teacher and registered Suzuki instructor, she has taught chamber music and private students of all ages across the United States. Ms. Stomberg received her Bachelor of Musical Arts degree, magna cum laude, at the University of Michigan, and her Master of Music degree at Rice University. She is married to University of Delaware Cello Professor Lawrence Stomberg, and has three adult children.
