I hold a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance as well as a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. I began my Suzuki teacher training in 2007 and continue to take training courses whenever I can. These courses require playing auditions on the instrument, as well as many hours of classes, observations and written work. This summer I completed 5 additional teacher training courses, which will show up soon on my registered training!

I’ve played the violin for over 30 years! I’ve played in college orchestras, solo recitals, community theater productions, weddings, funerals and my community symphony.

I also played the alto and tenor saxes in concert band, marching band, jazz band and pep band when I was 12-18 years old, and still play and teach sax today! I love learning different instruments!

Along the way, I’ve also learned the viola, cello and flute to an intermediate level and accept beginning/intermediate level students on these instruments in addition to violin and a saxophone. It is my goal to complete Suzuki teacher training in cello and flute in the future!

I’ve been married 16 years and have 2 boys and a girl. My husband is a first grade teacher, plays the bagpipes and enjoys cycling. My sons (ages 13 and 9) enjoy video games and being outdoors. Our daughter (6) is on the autism spectrum. Aside from music and spending time with my family, I enjoy reading, writing poetry and songs, photography and watching HGTV.

I teach my students how to practice, so they will know what they are supposed to do every day and have as little stress as possible doing it. I teach all kinds of music: Suzuki pieces; fiddling; gypsy; folk; classical; baroque; romantic; movie music. I encourage my students to practice 5-7 days each week.

Students have the option of participating in at least 2 recitals each year, including a Holiday Concert at the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Sacramento.

My fee is monthly, payable via Venmo, PayPal, or cash.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I currently teach virtually using Zoom. I am teaching in-person on a limited basis.

When I am teaching in person, I travel to my students’ homes in Sacramento, East Sacramento, Natomas, West Sacramento, Davis, North Highlands, Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, Roseville and Rocklin. I am willing to travel 20 miles from my home, as my schedule allows.

Feel free to contact me if you are interested in or have questions about lessons/classes for you or your child.

I have been teaching the Suzuki Talent Violin Education Method since 2007.
