Miss. Jennifer Berg
Violin, Viola Teacher
Jennifer Berg is an active instructor and performer in Michigan. Originally from the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, Jennifer did her undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota with Sally O’Reilly and completed her Masters of Music at the University of Michigan with Stephen Shipps.
A dedicated teacher, Jennifer currently maintains a private studio and teaches at Expressions Music Academy in Novi. She teaches beginners as well as intermediate levels, high school students, and adults. Her students have won top seats their high school orchestras and have gone on to pursue careers in music. Previously, Jennifer taught for the Sphinx Overture Program, at Interlochen Center for the Arts with Ann Arbor high school orchestral programs, and at the Culture Arts String Camp in Manchester. At the University of Minnesota, Jennifer completed pedagogy studies with Sally O’Reilly in addition to all levels of Suzuki training with Mark Bjork.
An avid orchestral performer, she is a tenured member of the Ann Arbor and Flint Symphonies and performs frequently with the Lansing Symphony. She is also a member of the Ann Arbor Symphony String Trio which regularly performances in local schools. Jennifer has been concertmaster of both Michigan and Minnesota university orchestras and has performed with the New World Symphony and the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge, CO. Summer seasons have brought her to the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, Colorado College Festival in Colorado Springs, Chautauqua Institution in New York, Bravo! String Institute in Minneapolis, the International Music Academy in Pilsen, Czech Republic, and a member of the resident string quintet at the Conductors Retreat of Medomak, Maine.
