Ms. Jeanette Stenson

Jeanette Stenson, with over twenty years of cello teaching experience, brings a focus on creating an environment that develops high sensibilities in her students with curriculum focusing on individualized instruction addressing strong technique, repertoire, and musicality.

She has worked with schools in the New York City area including The School for Strings, Bronx Global Learning Institute for Girls, Lucy Moses School, Silver Music, Scarsdale Strings, Corona Youth Music Project, Herald Music School, Beverly Burton School of Music, and Turtle Bay Music School. Jeanette has teaching artist experience including presenting at The Children’s Storefront, Mott Hall II, and Cedar Island Elementary Schools. She has been an adjudicator for NYSSMA and is receptive to students working towards competitions.

In addition to the Suzuki curriculum, Jeanette specializes in audition coaching with an expertise in orchestral excerpt preparation and has multiple past students get accepted into the Juilliard MAP program as well as Manhattan School of Music’s Precollege program.

She has coaching experience with the Osseo Senior High Symphony Orchestra, District 279 Summer Music Camp, and the Stenson Suzuki Studio Summer Camp. Jeanette has been faculty at the New England Music Camp, a prestigious summer camp including private lessons, chamber music and orchestral coaching.

Jeanette held a private teaching studio while she was residing in Minnesota and New York City. Now she continues to expand her teaching studio, 10,000 Times Studio, remotely as well as in Providence, RI.

She completed her Suzuki Long-Term Teacher Training Certification at The School for Strings with Pamela Devenport. Jeanette holds a Master of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music in Orchestral Performance and a Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance from the University of Minnesota.
