Violinist and violist with over 25 years of teaching experience, Jean-Michel was named “Best violin teachers 2017 in Honolulu” by

Mr Jacquon’s students have been winning auditions to the Hawaii Youth Symphony every year since 1996 and have been concertmaster or principal of their sections at Punahou, Iolani, Moanalua, McKinley and Kaimuki schools among others. Two of Mr. Jacquon’s current students are on this website’s list of current Suzuki violin teachers in Hawaii.

Mr. Jacquon accepts students that have been playing for at least one year and are 7 years old or older.

Originally from France, Jean-Michel went to the Lyon National Superior music conservatory before going to the University of Michigan on a full merit scholarship to study with Maestro Ruggiero Ricci. Instructor at the Suzuki Institute at Michigan State University for many years, Mr. Jacquon joined the Detroit Symphony Orchestra before joining the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra full time 20 years ago. He is now a full-time member of the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra and has performed more than 2800 concerts in Hawaii. (for a complete Bio, please go to

Mr. Jacquon is the Director of the After School Strings program at “Le Jardin Academy” in Kailua. Students from other schools from the Windward side are welcome to join Le Jardin Academy Strings program!
