Shaker Heights, OH

Mr. MacQueen shares the joy of music through a vibrant studio of violin students. Lessons are fun, exciting, and intellectually stimulating. Students will learn musical self-expression through technical mastery of the instrument. The violin is a challenging instrument, but it is incredibly rewarding. In addition to mastery of the violin, students will become familiar with music theory and music history through the repertoire they work on.

Mr. MacQueen holds a masters in violin performance from University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music, where he studied Suzuki pedagogy with Kathleen Spring and Carol Tarr. Additionally, he holds a bachelors of music in violin performance and composition from University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music. In addition to teaching violin, Mr. MacQueen is an active performer and composer with performances on both the east and west coast as well as locally.

In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering with the Shaker Heights School District at the elementary and middle school string orchestra programs.
