Dr. Ivana Cojbasic has been a successful piano instructor both at the academic level and within private teaching venues. Her teaching experience encompasses three countries: Serbia, Italy, and the United States. She was an Assistant Professor of Piano at the University of Belgrade in Serbia, and also taught piano at Gonzaga University, Eastern Washington University, Bowling Green State University in Ohio, and the University of North Texas. Currently, she teaches piano at Whitworth University in Spokane,WA, and runs a private piano studio at her home in Spokane.
The graduate of a renowned Music Academy in Belgrade, Serbia, she also studied at the world famous Academy of Music “Franz Liszt” in Budapest, Hungary; Conservatory of Music “Luigi Cherubini” in Florence, Italy; and the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. In addition to holding a doctorate in Piano Performance with a minor in Music Theory, she is also certified to teach Suzuki Piano. Her students have been receiving the highest grades in annual National Piano Teachers Guild auditions in the USA, and have been the winners in the piano festivals and competitions. Dr. Cojbasic successfully combines teaching with her performing schedule. She enjoys teaching both children and adults at all levels, and nurtures an encouraging and inspiring atmosphere in her studio.
