I am Ioana Paula Weathers , violin , viola Suzuki
and traditional teacher A former director of STEP program and a violin teacher at Nevada School of the Arts, I am always reaching out for my students to find their inner child dream and develop their talent, character through the wonderful music of Suzuki repertoire. My primary instrument is violin; I start playing violin at 5 years old in Romania. . I am originally from Bucharest- Romania ,—BA in instrumental violin pedagogy from Conservatory in Bucharest and MA in music education- Bucharest, Romania. My Suzuki training years started when I move to USA and see students been able to start violin at such an early age. Suzuki philosophy and training made me a better teacher and gave me more tools to understand and to reach out to my families as a teacher. The most important role as a Suzuki teacher is to see how a student begins their journey at three years old as a violinist and continue to grow to a pre-college young musicians. Starting with a Twinkle theme and being able to see your student play Lalo or Mendelson concerto is the most rewarding fact in a teacher’s adventure.
I’ve been teaching for over 25 years in community music school, private studio , public schools , and charter school in Virginia ,California and Las Vegas.
At the moment I am teaching in Las Vegas in a charter school Doral Academy and home Suzuki studio.
New students are always welcome in my studio to start or continue their journey of music.
