Hi I am Ian Wasserman. I am a recent graduate of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where I obtained a BFA in Cello Performance. My principal teachers include: Professor Stefan Kartman, Professor Jichen Li, Professor Benjamin Karp, and Peter Thomas. I currently teach a studio of 12 students and have taught through the Online Music Group. Throughout my career I have performed with the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra, Beloit-Janesville Symphony Orchestra, Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra, Kettle Moraine Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Philharmonic, Listeso, Dream City Strings, and perform regularly at Lumen Christi Church. I have also been successful in many competitions. I received 1st Place in UW-Milwaukee’s 2020 Concerto Competition, 2nd Place in the 2021 Kings Peak International Solo Competition, 3rd Place in the 2021 New Jersey Camerata International Solo Competition, and Honorable Mention in the 2021 Concord Chamber Orchestra Concerto Competition. Additionally, I have attended music festivals including: Brevard Music Center, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Decoda Chamber Music Festival, Red Rocks Chamber Music Festival and even the American Suzuki Institute. Throughout these experiences, I have performed for Shmuel Ashkenasi, Sergiu Schwartz, The Emerson Quartet, Shanghai Quartet, Kronos Quartet, Calidore Quartet, and many more.
