Mrs. Holly M. Blackwelder Carpenter
Holly Blackwelder Carpenter begin her violin studies at age 5 with Kathleen Spring, in Walla Walla, WA. She received her BA in Music and Theology in 2000 from Walla Walla University. Holly has received certifications in the Suzuki Violin Method, books 1-7. She also holds a certification for Books 1-3 as a review unit, in Spanish. Holly taught in the string preparatory program at Walla Walla College, from 1995-97 and 1997-2000 and at the Universidad Peruana Union near Lima, Peru from 1997-98. She maintained a small studio in Austin, TX from 2003-2006 and a full studio in the Seattle area, from 2006-2014. She currently teaches a full studio in the Walla Walla area. She has been the Director of the Japan Seattle Suzuki Institute since 2010. Holly currently serves on the Board of the Suzuki Association of the Americas. Holly received a MA in Old Testament, from Andrews Theological Seminary and a MA from the University of Texas at Austin in Hebrew Language and Literature.
