B.M. in piano performance from the University of Iowa
Heidi Wilson, originally from Wadena, Iowa began violin at the age of 6 with Therese Fetter at the University of Northern Iowa Suzuki School. She began piano at the age of 8 under the instruction of Joan Smalley in Cedar Falls, IA. Heidi continued her study of music in college where she received a Bachelor’s of Music in piano performance from the University of Iowa where she studied with Dr. Ksenia Nosikova. During her time at the University of Iowa, she played violin with the symphony orchestra and was an active member in the Music Teachers’ National Association collegiate chapter. Since college, Heidi has maintained a private piano and violin studio in the various places she has lived. Heidi served as a violinist for both the Florence Symphony Orchestra in SC and most recently with the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra in New Mexico. She attended the Harrt Suzuki Institute, The Chicago Suzuki Institute, and the Memphis Suzuki institute where she received Suzuki training in violin books 1, 2, and 3. Heidi currently makes her home in Poquoson, VA where she lives with her husband, Timothy Wilson and their four young children. Heidi enjoys exploring new playgrounds with her family, a great cup of freshly brewed coffee, and playing boardgames.
