Hannah Johnson is a registered Suzuki violin and viola instructor with the Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA). She received her training under Charles Krigbaum at the Colorado Suzuki Institute in 2015.

Hannah received her B.A. in music on the violin, from Fort Lewis College. Hannah performs with the San Juan Symphony, Levesh Ministries, and her own music group, hannahjohnsonworhsip.com.
In the past Hannah has studied classical violin, bluegrass fiddle, and jazz violin with the teachers, Dr. Brent Williams, Dr. Kasia Sokol-Borup, Dr. Maurice Sklar, Jeff Solan, Matt Palmer and Cathy Pope. Hannah has had master classes with Tim Fain, Dr.Maurice Sklar, Jennifer Frautschi, and Corinne Stillwell. Hannah has also studied Scottish fiddle with Iain Frasier at the Merlin Music Academy of Traditional Music in Melrose, Scotland.

Hannah has been teaching private violin and fiddle for over ten years. She is currently teaching a private Suzuki studio in the Durango and Bayfield area, as well as online Skype lessons. She collaborates with violinist and Suzuki teacher, Dr. Brandon Christensen. Hannah has studied violin pedagogy with, Dr. Brandon Christensen, Dr. Maurice Sklar, a student of Dorthy Delay and graduate of Juilliard, as well as Sherry Sinift, who works with Mimi Zweig. Hannah’s other teaching experience has included co-directing the beginning orchestra with Lech Usinowicz with The Be Frank Foundation, teaching workshops at elementary schools, teaching music classes at preschools, and leading the bluegrass fiddle workshop at the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown.

When Hannah is not teaching, she performs with the San Juan Symphony and as a fiddle player in country and Celtic bands, as well as in her band, Hannah Johnson.
