I began harp lessons in 1953 from Virginia Robbins. I was a biology major in college but I played in the college orchestra and concert band. In the years after graduating college I played for an occasional wedding or church service. After teaching in public schools in Texas for 21 years I retired and turned my attention to playing my harp better and became interested in Suzuki harp after seeing some Suzuki students perform. I was so impressed with them that I wanted to teach the Suzuki Method, too. Thus began my career as a harp teacher. I love it. It is so rewarding to have a student master a technique or to finish a piece no matter how simple those are. I currently have 8 students, which includes my 7 year old grandson.
