Ms. Flora Van Wormer
Cello, Bass Teacher
I have been teaching since 1996, and have found that it is something that I really enjoy. I work with students ages 4 to 64.
As a child, I began with Suzuki lessons in piano at age eight. Later, I played violin for a while, before discovering the cello at age 12. In college, I started bass, and have taken the Suzuki bass teacher training for Books 1 and 2. My degrees are in Cello Performance from the University of Northern Iowa (B.M.) and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (M.M.).
Over the years, I have worked with many cello teachers to learn the art and technique of playing and teaching the cello. My Suzuki teacher training is complete—Books 1-10. I currently have a studio out of my home in Madison. I play in two folk bands and also do some freelancing.
