Flora Parker opened her private Suzuki piano teaching studio in the fall of 1982 after completing a music major in Piano Performance at the State University of New York at Brockport. She completed her Suzuki piano teacher training workshops in the summer of 1985, attending one at the Chautauqua Institute with Michiko Yurko, and the rest at Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada with Carole Bigler, Valery Lloyd-Watts, Ray Landers and Sue Vasquez. While she was working on the requirements for her Master of Music degree (Music Education) at the Eastman School of Music she wrote a curriculum for her piano students, taking them from their very first lessons through the Suzuki piano repertoire. Her accompanying experience has been for various orchestral instruments (winds and strings), ballet dancers and vocalists as well
