Fiona J. Lofthouse, violin, was born and raised in Blackburn, Lancashire, England, and began her violin studies at the age of six.

In college, she gained her Performance Certificate with Howard Davis at the Royal Academy of Music in London, and her Master’s degree with Sergiu Luca and Raphael Fliegel at The Shepherd School of Music, Rice University, Houston.

Ms. Lofthouse has long experience as a professional orchestral player, playing with the Houston Symphony, Grand Opera and Ballet Orchestras; the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra; and as a First Violin with the Florida Orchestra (Tampa Bay) from 1992 to 2008.

Ms. Lofthouse teaches the violin by the Suzuki Method, having trained extensively with Ronda Cole and Carrie Reuning. She has also completed Unit 1A and B Teacher Training in Music, Mind, Games— a fun way to teach music theory and reading.
