Fang Fang has a Master degree of Music in cello performance from Arizona State University. Additionally, she holds a B.A. in cello performance from Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and Nanjing Art Institute in China. Fang began to play the piano when she was 5. She learned to play the cello from her mother, a professional cellist, since she was 7. She grew up in a musical family.

Fang is a professional cellist with nearly 18 years of experience in orchestras as a recitalist, orchestral musician, and chamber musician. For 8 years she was the assistant principal cellist of Shanghai Orchestra. She has performed in countries and regions including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, France, and America. Fang also played in Scottsdale Philharmonic in Phoenix as principal cello while attending ASU. She was playing with several symphony orchestras in Pennsylvania and New Jersey from 2015 to 2017. In addition, she has appeared in numerous festivals including Red Rocks Music Festival, High Peaks Festival and etc.

As a music instructor, Fang is a certified Suzuki teacher in both piano (Unit 1-6) and cello (Unit 1/2/3/6/7/8/9/10) in the US. She also obtains the teaching diploma from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) in the UK. In addition, she’s a private lesson teacher of CISD. Now she has a professional and successful studio Fortissimo Music Lesson in The Woodlands. She has been teaching for over 18 years with inspiring enthusiasm, great patience, and effective communication. Fang founded Fortissimo Music Lesson in 2015. She also prides herself at identifying intrinsic music talents in every child, and her students include active young musician orchestra and competition winners.

She uses Suzuki Method of teaching for it is great for both beginners and the advanced. Fang loves music and teaching music as she’s come to learn that music is a universal language with no boarders. She can communicate with students with the keyboard and strings even when the language becomes limited. She believes this is close to what Dr. Suzuki called as ‘mother-tongue approach.
