Born in China, Even Rong Ma is a passionate performer, artist and educator. 

As an active performer, she made her solo debut at the age of 14 performing the Haydn C Major Cello Concerto with the Central Conservatory of Music Chamber Orchestra in China and has been a featured soloist on numerous occasions since. In 2017, she performed Schumann Cello concerto as a soloist with Ensemble 207 at Judson Manor, Mixon Hall and Council Gardens in Cleveland. She has also performed in numerous music halls all around the world, such as Carnegie Hall, Severance Hall, Mixon Hall, and Kulas Hall in North America, The National Centre for the Performing Arts and Fujian Grand Theatre in Asia, Castello Brancaleoni and Palazzo Ducale in Europe. As a recipient of fellowships of Round Top Festival Institute, Chautauqua Music Festival and Colorado College Summer Music Festival, Ms. Ma is a top-prize winner of numerous competitions, including first prize winner of the 2018 “Golden Classical Music Awards’ ‘ International Competition, and the second runner-up in the Popper International Competition. She has been the cello principal for the Cleveland Women Orchestra, Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra and Central Conservatory of Music Chamber Orchestra. During the summer of 2019, she has been invited by the Brancaleoni International Music Festival to perform in Italy. Not only has been active on stage, Ms. Ma  has also appeared on Screen with many famous actors such as Jackie Chan, Jaden Smith, Justin Chatwin, Peter Stormare and Elizabeth Anweis.

As an educator, Ms. Ma is a fully-trained Suzuki cello teacher. She has registered training for Cello Unit 1-10, “Every Child Can!” and cello practice with the Suzuki Association of the Americas. She also holds her teaching positions at Cincinnati Young Artists, University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music Preparatory, 2019 CYA Summer Cello Academy, Indian Springs Academy of Music and Musika Lessons. Many of her students have gotten into Cincinnati Junior Strings and Cincinnati Youth Symphony Orchestra. 

After getting her bachelor and master’s degrees at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Professor Mark Kosower, she is currently a doctoral student studying cello performance at the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music where she studies with Professor Alan Rafferty. 

In her spare time, Ms. Ma loves outreaching to the communities and spreading cello and music knowledge. She has been invited to give presentations and recitals by the kindergartens, nursing homes, cancer centers, hospitals and special education schools. 

Her musical interests cover a variety of areas, such as Suzuki Cello Pedagogy, solo cello performance, chamber music, orchestras, teaching general musical knowledge to people over distance learning and Dalcroze Eurhythmics Pedagogy.

Born in Beijing, Even Rong Ma started to play the cello when she was nine.
As an active performer, she has performed as a soloist with the CCOM Chamber Orchestra in China and Ensemble 207 in Cleveland. She has also appeared in many international festivals with fellowship, such as Round Top Festival Institute and Colorado College Summer Music Festival.
After getting her bachelor and master degrees at the Cleveland Institute of Music, she is currently a doctoral student studying cello performance at the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music where she studies with Professor Alan Rafferty.

She is now taking private cello students around Cincinnati area, and students around the world online.
