Violinist Evan Courtin has been a performer and teacher in Buffalo, NY for more than ten years. He recently earned his B.A. in Music from Buffalo State College, where he served as concertmaster of the BSC Philharmonia. From 2007 to 2013, he was a member of local progressive rock group Peanut Brittle Satellite, which received a Buffalo Music Award in 2008 for Best New Original Music. In 2013 Evan received an All WNY Music Award as an instrumentalist not traditionally found in a rock band.

Since 2014, Evan has been teaching with Buffalo String Works, a not-for-profit organization based in the West Side neighborhood of Buffalo, whose mission is to provide high-quality music instruction on stringed instruments to children of low-income, refugee and immigrant families.

In September 2016, he joined Suzuki Violinists of Western New York, teaching the Fiddling Club group class and co-directing the Presto! Advanced Ensemble, in addition to teaching private lessons.
