Dr. Eunice In Hwa Lee is a dedicated cellist, cello teacher, and chamber, orchestra musician. As an active cellist and chamber musician, she has collaborated with many famous artists around the world, such as Colin Carr (world renown cellist), Eric Bartlett (Juilliard, New York Philharmonic), members of Emerson Quartet, Tokyo Quartet and Sejong International Soloists. She was invited by the Korean National government to perform in concert tours in the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Colombia and has been fortunate enough to perform in many international countries, such as Russia, Canada, Italy, Japan, Korea, and the United States. Additionally, she has performed as a sub-cellist in the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and KBS (Korean Broadcasting Symphony) Orchestra.

She is the founder and director of Yale Cello Studio in McLean, Virginia and has had the pleasure of being a judge in the New York International Competition.

With over 20 years of teaching experience and a passion for education, Dr. Lee has gained a reputation for guaranteeing great results. Her students have served as principal cellists of the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and the Governor’s School for the Arts, and have been accepted into the All-National Orchestra, All-Eastern Orchestra, and All-States Orchestra. Her students have received 1st Prize in the American Protegé International Competition, New York Artist International Competition, National Artists Competition, and Winner VMTA Concerto Competition, American Youth Philharmonic Orchestra Concerto Competition, The Capital Symphonic Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition, 1st prize in NVMTA Strings Concerto Competition.

Previously, Dr. Lee has received 1st prize in the Moscow Virtuosos Youth International Competition, 1st prize in the Ackerman Chamber Music Competition, and 2nd prize at the 5 Towns Music And Arts Foundation Music Competition. She was also a finalist in the Aldo Parisot International Cello Competition, a semi-finalist in the Dr. Luis Sigall Cello International Competition, and winner of 1st prize in the Alexander & Buono International Competition.

Dr. Lee earned a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from Stony Brook University under Soloist Colin Carr, a Master of Music Degree and Artist Diploma from Yale University School of Music under Aldo Parisot, and a Bachelor of Music from Korea National University of Arts under Myung-Wha Chung. She also completed her Suzuki teaching certification for all units 1 – 10, at the School for Strings in NYC and the Chicago Suzuki Institute. She also studied extensively with Eric Bartlett of the New York Philharmonic.
