Viola, Violin Teacher
Erin Rolan holds a Bachelors of Music in Viola Performance from the University of Oregon, where she was awarded the Alice Kreig Scholarship for Music. She also has her Masters in Viola and Violin Performance as well as her Long Term Suzuki Training with Susan Kempter at the University of New Mexico, where she spent time as the violist in the Abe Franck Graduate String Quartet. She has studied with Carmelo de los Santos, Kimberly Fredenburgh, Daniele Gay, Leslie Straka, Fritz Gearhart, Carrie Krause and Jennifer Cowell. In 2004, she was the winner of a young artist’s concerto competition with the Casper Symphony Orchestra. She has served as Acting Principle Viola with the Helena Symphony as well as Associate Concertmaster for the Spazio Music Festival Opera Orchestra in Orvieto, Italy. She was also the principal second violinist for the University of New Mexico Symphonic Orchestra’s collaboration with the “Defiant Requiem” under conductor Murry Sidlin. She has recently played with Big Sky Orchestra, New Mexico Philharmonic, Opera Southwest, Santa Fe Symphony, Santa Fe Pro Musica, Performance Santa Fe and Landmark Musical Company. She has an active studio of both violinists and violists in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
