A dedicated and passionate educator and artist, flutist Emma Piedilato has a decade of performance
experience. Her pedagogical approach weaves academia, meaningful connections, and creative
solutions into her teaching and music making, tailoring her approach to students’ individual needs. She
currently teaches preschool special education in the East Brunswick, New Jersey, school district where
she brings her intrinsic love for music as a Suzuki-trained flute and recorder teacher to her students. She has an established private woodwind teaching studio, having taught both oboe and bassoon in CentralJersey to a wide range of ages and learning needs. She founded a music education blog, where she combines her education experience with her zeal for making music theory less daunting to people.

Emma has performed at the British Isles Music Festival in Godalming, UK, and played in masterclasses for Bart Feller, Valerie Coleman, Mindy Kaufman, Amy Porter and Brandon George. She completed her undergraduate degree in Music Education, with a concentration in flute in 2019 at Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts, and completes her Masters of Music in Flute Performance in May of 2021 at Montclair State University.
